Proposed Bylaw Amendments

ARTICLE VIII
Committees; Duties of Committees

The Association will have the following standing committees; bylaws, nominating, and annual meeting.

  • The Bylaws Committee shall have duties as follows:
    • This committee is co-chaired by the counselor and president-elect.
    • The committee shall make and/or receive proposed amendments to the bylaws.
    • The committee will present proposed amendments to the executive committee for review and recommendation and,
    • With the approval of the executive board, the committee shall prepare a copy of proposed amendments to be presented to the membership at the annual meeting in accordance with Article XIV
  • The Nominating Committee shall have the duties as follows:
    • This committee shall be chaired by the counselor and two (2) other members appointed by the executive board at the Spring executive board meeting.
    • Annually, a slate of officers shall be created that reflects the positions open.
    • The slate of officers shall be presented at the winter Executive Committee meeting.
    • The officer candidate biographies shall be sent to the general membership for consideration prior to the annual meeting where the election shall take place.
    • The slate of officers shall be sent to the general membership thirty (30) days prior to the annual meeting.
  • The Annual Meeting Committee shall have the duties as follows:
    • The committee of three (3) shall include the president, president-elect and vice-president-communications and membership
    • The committee shall ensure the annual meeting emphasized the program of work; which include proposing future annual meeting sites and recommending policies pertaining to the annual meeting.
  • >Additional Standing Committees - The Association may appoint standing committees as needed. These committees shall report to the Executive Board.

The president of the Association shall appoint the chairman of those committees not otherwise specified by the bylaws.

Reports of general interest to the general membership shall be given at the annual business meeting of the Association as requested by the Executive Board and/or it’s individual members. Written reports of standing committees shall be submitted to the Executive Board. Additional reports shall be submitted as directed by the Executive Board.
